The Classical Voice Studio of Diana Farrell

STUDIO POLICY

Please print and retain for your records. All students must submit a signed Studio Policy by the start of their 2nd lesson or within one week of their initial lesson, whichever comes first.

TIME:

Lessons will be one hour (60 minutes) in length. Alternative Options are at the discretion of the teacher and based upon available schedule. As I will likely be working with another student, please always let your self in at your lesson time, and do not wait to be invited in, as we are probably hard at work and not watching the clock. The same applies for online lessons. Please call via Skype promptly at your lesson time and I will connect with you within the next 1-2 minutes.

COST:

$90 per hour lesson (unless alternative fee offered); Pay via the student portal, or PayPal (please make PayPal payments to me as an individual, not an institution), or checks payable to Diana Farrell. Lessons will be billed on a monthly basis at the beginning of each month. Payment should be remitted at or by the first lesson each month and will total the cost of the number of lessons to be taken during the month. A $15 late fee will be assessed if payment is not received at the first lesson of the month. When a pianist is present there will be an additional charge due from the student and these arrangements will be made in advance.

CANCELLATIONS:

Lessons canceled with forty-eight (48) hours advance notice will be rescheduled. As a teacher, I spend focused time in advance of your lesson reviewing notes, preparing repertoire, coordinating a pianist, etc., so ample time is required for cancellations. Of course there are emergencies and these will be considered individually. Some examples of non-emergent cancellation situations: common cold, upcoming exams/school projects, last minute change of work shift, or unpreparedness. Students are responsible to pay for lessons canceled without forty-eight hours notice. No refund will be given for no-shows or tardiness. If I, the teacher, must miss a lesson with a student, it will be rescheduled at the student’s convenience. If, for some reason, we cannot make up a lesson, payment from that lesson will be credited towards the next month's bill.

DISCONTINUED LESSONS:

If a student intends to discontinue lessons, thirty (30) days advance written notice is required or a full month's tuition shall be assessed.

COMMUNICATION:

I will provide all students with my personal phone number and email address upon receipt of their registration documents. Please feel free to call or text between the hours of 9AM and 9 PM if you have any questions. If you have concerns during your practice time regarding technique or repertoire, I encourage you to reach out instead of waiting until the next lesson. I will do my best to reply within 24 hours.
